Annika Ostwald and Ida Uvaas are two freelance dance artists based in Norway and Sweden. Ostwald/Uvaas have an ongoing collaboration creating interactive performances, which communicate with their audiences through the use of all senses. Over the past 5 years, Ostwald/Uvaas/Bjerkeskaug/Stene have played more than 100 performances with their interactive promenade theatre performance “I Vesterled” for children 8-13yrs old. Recently, they created ‘Korp, korp’, an interactive installation performance for children 6mnts-3yrs old, an incredible world of sound and scenography for the audience to explore.

Korp, korp (2014)

Enveloped by a world of sound, texture and movement. A tactile landscape. Nature.

6 months – 3 years
A door opens into an undiscovered world, and together with the children, the two birds discover an unknown territory. They are two peculiar creatures, identical, like twins. Maybe human, maybe birds, maybe both. It is through their curious eyes we see this world unfold, flying through four seasons.

There are no seats, and the audience is free to walk around the room, sit wherever they want, touch, and make their own discoveries.

Dance artists Annika Ostwald and Ida Uvaas invite the youngest children to actively explore a tactile, abstract universe created by scenographer and sculptor Carl Nilssen-Love, with a vivid sound-design by composer Jens L. Thomsen.

I Vesterled (2011)

A trapped lighthouse keeper, two lost fisher women, a living secret on the bottom of the ocean. They have all forgotten, but when a group of children visits, their memory returns.

An interactive adventure for children the age of 8-13 yrs old.
“I Vesterled” has played more than 100 performances since its premiere.
